The 10th International Scientific Conference on Adult Education, together with its Conference Proceedings, placed particular emphasis on the perspectives and challenges shaping the development of adult education over the coming decade. The discussions were framed by the Marrakesh Framework for Action (CONFINTEA VII, 2022), which provides globally agreed recommendations addressing key challenges in adult learning and education to the extent achievable through international consensus. These recommendations encompass the establishment of governance frameworks and public governance arrangements, the redesign of education and training systems, quality assurance in adult education, increased public investment and financing, the promotion of inclusion, and the expansion of learning opportunities. In addition to its global perspective, the 10th International Scientific Conference incorporated European and national dimensions of adult education. Within the European Union, this approach is reflected in the recognition of adult learning as a key priority of the European Education Area (2021–2030). Furthermore, the European Pillar of Social Rights (2017), in its first principle, affirms the right to education, training, and lifelong learning. The New European Agenda for Adult Learning outlines a vision for the development of adult education in Europe by 2030, structured around five priority areas: governance of adult learning; the provision and uptake of lifelong learning opportunities supported by sustainable financing; accessibility and flexibility; quality assurance, with particular emphasis on the professional development of adult education staff; and the strengthening of skills for the green and digital transitions. The conference presented research findings and scholarly reflections addressing several of these key dimensions of adult education.
