The textbook examines contemporary approaches to music education. The first part introduces and explains fundamental concepts in didactics and methodology, as well as approaches to implementing the core activities involved in music teaching. This is followed by a chapter on the psychology of music, which explores the nature of musical abilities and presents different conceptualisations of these abilities. It also examines the concept of musical preferences and the factors that influence their development. The final part of the textbook, Intercultural Music Education, provides definitions of culture, identity, and intercultural education. It then presents an overview of the historical development of intercultural music education, followed by a discussion of different approaches to intercultural music education.
