Abstract
The book is a university textbook of the University of Split, which in fifteen chapters discusses topics from the field of philosophy of science, from clarifying the concepts of philosophy and science and their mutual relationship, through an overview of the history of science from Aristotle to Newton, and the later emergence of quantum theory and the theory of relativity, key concepts of the philosophy of science (scientific explanation, scientific theory, natural law, logical empiricism, induction), theories of progress in science of naturalism, scientific realism, to the theory of relativity, quantum theory and the relationship between science and religion.
