Abstract

Numerous studies demonstrated that parents’ education degree, their working status, the Internet access and pupils’ gender infl uence pupils’ school success, especially in primary school. In this study we have tried to establish the following connections: between some stratifi cation factors and school success, between school success and the Internet use for educational purposes, as well as the use of the Internet related to pupils’ gender. Eigthy-seven respondents – 7th graders of the „Ostrog“ Primary School in Kastel Luksic were interviewed. The relations between the above mentioned variables are expressed by hi-square test. Thus positive connections have been found between the variables of parents’ working status and pupils’ school success, between the use of the Internet and pupils’ gender, as well as between the use of the Internet for educational purposes and the pupils’ school success. It has also been determined that boys use the communication services of the Internet more than the girls.
