Abstract

Geometry is ubiquitous in all aspects of our everyday life and as such is essential in education of every individual. It is exceptionally abstract, even in the primary levels of education and it requires a set of skills and deep understanding so that knowledge could be passed on to students at an early age. With this survey we have tried to test certain fundamental knowledges of elementary geometry as well as the opinions and attitudes about the importance of geometry in their education and education in general, with students of primary education. For that purpose we have designed a test of certain fundamental knowledges of elementary geometry. The study was conducted on a sample of 80 students of primary education at the University of Zadar.
