Alongside the anthological \u201cThe Sea\u201d, considered by many one of the most beautiful songs of the entire Croatian literature, he has published a wealth of verses of rare beauty, precise and clear expression, musicality, subtle rhythm. However, it is less known that Josip Pupa\u010di\u0107 was a respected researcher of literature and literary history, and \u2013 an anthologist. He actually prepared &#8211; but not published &#8211; an anthology about the sea, printed in 2005. and released by the publisher \u201cEx Libris\u201d. With it he wanted to \u201cgive a comparative context of similar songs of other poets\u201d to his Sea. In this way he has given us the most beautiful and representative poems of the sea and discovered a rich range of states, feelings and moods that it fosters. As an anthologist, Josip Pupa\u010di\u0107 chose poets \u201cwho establish a relationship with him, close a circle of beauty and emotion, which, without the consumer, is gaping empty, unfinished\u201d, never losing a sense of literary value, beauty, artistic credibility.
